Recommendations After Deep Cleaning
So you spent the weekend shining up the old grill, or maybe you got smart and hired SBGC to do it for you! In either case, below we have outlined a few steps that we recommend to take after a deep cleaning on your grill.
π§Ό Steps After A Deep Clean π§Ό
β Turn the grill to approximately 400 degrees (medium heat) and do a 10 minute burn off. This helps to alleviate any residual moisture that may be leftover in cracks and seams from the deep cleaning.
β Let the grill cool down to where it is safe to touch.
β Within 24 - 48 hours or prior to the next cook; apply a thin layer of high heat oil to the grates and interior of the grill, paying special attention to any parts that have surface rust.
Remember, less is more in this situation. Thin layers are great, you donβt want big pools of oil.
High heat oil examples include: Avocado, Peanut, Grapeseed, Canola, Beef Tallow and most refined Vegetable oils.
β Bake the oil in for approximately 30 - 40 minutes at approximately 400 degrees.
This process helps to season the grill, prevent rust, and extend the life. Now enjoy that clean grill and get back to cooking!
